Silver Jewellery Workshop - Beginners
Design and Make Your Own Silver Jewellery
In this short 3 hour course Sarah will guide you through learning the traditional techniques to make your own silver jewellery. In order to ensure you are able to create further projects at home on the completion of your class there is a strong focus on using tools that are readily available and able to be set up and used at home.
Each participant will have the choice of creating a ring, set of earrings, or a pendant, in a design of their own style. They will be guided through the process from marking out their design, cutting, forging, soldering, sanding, texturing and then finally finishing their piece.
These sessions are aimed to be a fun creative experience and no prior jewellery making or metal working experience is necessary.
Tea and coffee are available through out the workshop
Sarah Munnings was working in the corporate world of finance and when she was struck down by a devastating mystery illness. Tests, more tests, and months of trips to doctors, led to the diagnoses of Fibromyalgia (a chronic pain condition). This led to Sarah to rediscover her creativity as her own personal form of rehabilitation and become a self taught jeweller who developed a table top jewellery practise in her kitchen.
She now teaches others the amazing creations that can be made using copper, silver and brass. She uses traditional techniques of forging, soldering and texturing metal, and is passionate about using tools that are easily accessible so that her guests at workshops can continue their journey of discovery at home.
